It is kinda awful though, for boys and girls.
I wouldn’t go so far as awful. Does it suck? Yeah. I’ve had feelings for plenty of guys that just wanna be friends, and it does suck. But I never blamed them for it. I just wasn’t their type. When I do something nice for a guy friend, even if I like them, I don’t expect them to feel obligated to have a relationship/sex with me. But a lot of guys seem to have this attitude that ‘oh, being friends with a girl and being nice and doing nice things for her because I like her, automatically means she should take the hint and go out with me/reward me with sex’. People put themselves in that situation and choose to be bitter about it, and blame the other person, instead of moving on and realizing hey, nothing’s gonna come from this, I’m just hurting myself. That’s why I don’t take the friend zone shit seriously. Like someone said, women are not robots you put kindness coins into until sex falls out. And that’s the attitude I primarily find in people who complain about the friend zone.
Reddit is a prime example of what I’m talking about, for the record.
